Fundraising
Coordinators
1. Set a sales goal for your group and each student. To determine the student goal,
divide your total sales goal by the number of students who will be participating.
2. Set a start and finish date for your fundraiser and stick to it. We recommend
two weeks. This will keep your students or participants motivated and on track.
Be sure to plan your dates so that you have enough time before a holiday for products
to be delivered direct to the customer.
3. Plan a launch date and a Kick-Off Assembly. This
is the single most important element of your fundraising campaign. This get-together
can be held with the entire school in the gym or in smaller groups in the classroom.
Your Fundraising Specialist will help manage or run this important event.
4. Be sure to let your students and parents know what you are raising money for.
This greatly increases your chances for success.
5. Review the Incentive Package to motivate students. This is the second most important
element of your fundraising campaign. Never underestimate the power of a reward!
6. Make sure your students know your school ID #. This is used during the online
checkout process to give credit to your school or group.
7. Create a safety plan for fundraising and communicate it to your students and
parents.
8. Promote your fundraiser via the school announcements, parent letters, email,
and school newsletter. Put up posters and other reminders.
9. Send out a press release to area newspapers to solicit community support with
our easy-to-use press release template.
10. Don’t forget to solicit local businesses. They may want to buy music for their
waiting room or gifts for employees and customers.
11. Provide progress reports and fun reminders to keep students and teachers motivated.
12. Sit back and relax! We take it from here. All products are delivered to the
customers and your school receives payment within 30 days following the quarter
in which it completes its fundraiser. If your school needs the proceeds before this
date, please contact us. In some cases, we can accommodate special requests.
13. Congratulations on a successful fundraising drive! Thank you for supporting
your school and for allowing The Family Entertainment Catalog to help.
